Football chants that are in films and books but you've never heard at a match.
"here we go here we go here go, here we go here we go here we go"

Never heard this chanted but whenever they show "soccer fans" on tv they have them singing this.

Probably depends how old you are as I've heard this at football, though probably not for 20 odd years.

"Come on you hammers"

Never heard anyone at Upton Park say this ever.

Never heard any West Ham fan refer to us as "the hammers" either.

You young mashed?

I'm not old at 41 (well I feel old), but I still refer to us as the Hammers all the time.

As with the original song, 'You're gonna get your fucking head kicked in' is also a song that was around a lot in the 80's.

Along with You'll never make the station'.

Heard 'you're gonna get your fucking heads kicked in', 'you'll never make the station' and 'you're going home in a West Ham ambulance' plenty of times back in the day.

I always refer to us as The Hammers.

I'm 29.

I've only ever seen us referred to as the hammers "in print" as it were. Never actually heard anyone say it.

Obviously excluding groups like "Belgian Hammers" or whatever.

Always just irons

I learned Irons from my family, they were old though.

Hammers sounds too much like North American sports teams for me. Like Oilers, Raptors, Lakers.

Not that that is bad, just each has their place for me. Each to their own though.

Was there also one something like 'You're going home in an H2 envelope' back in the day?

Guessing the H2 bit was the term for a bodybag, though I could have that bit of wording wrong.

I used to love the Knees Up Mother Brown chant, followed by a massive surge down the terrace.

'Here we go' was of its time and came and went
A bit like 'Town X is a shithole , I want to go home'
Havent heard 'by far the greatest team the world has ever seen' for a while.

Current flavour of the month is obviously the Ozil / Payet / Ginger Pele song.
